"Naked in New York" by Nancy Tilly (reprise from July 2019)
A Southern debutante of Atlanta makes a splash, or not, in 1956 New York.
Nancy Tilly’s early years in Deep South Atlanta received welcome corrections from the University of North Carolina and a ten-year exile in Chicago where she taught college. Marriage to Eben Tilly took her back to Chapel Hill and a writing life. Her novel Golden Girl, from FSG, won a prize. Tilly’s memoir Rebel Belle: The Making of a Narcissist is available on Amazon. She retired to Colorado and is working on a juvenile novel, The Island Summer.
“Naked in New York” appears in Exploring: Discoveries. Challenges. Adventure, the 2019 Personal Essay Publishing Project anthology.
