"Moonshine and Medicine" by J. Leonard Greer
– keeping the old ways
Uncle Noah made the moonshine from the “trickahmadoo”; Aunt Francy made the medicine from—well, best not ask.
J. Leonard Greer has lived almost 80 years in the North Carolina mountains. His ancestors were among the earliest settlers of Ashe-Watauga counties area. He never expected to write as he usually worked with his hands, but COVID-19 changed that. He had the time and felt that the family's youngsters needed to learn some family history as he had heard it from the family elders. After near 400 pages and still no stopping place in sight, it became Oral History and My Appalachia published through Cary Press.
