"Bringing North Carolina Home" by Paloma Capanna

After moving south recently from Upstate New York, writer and antiques dealer, Paloma Capanna, shares her experience of being welcomed to the community of Beaufort, North Carolina, and her continuing appreciation of the state’s artisans and their craftsmanship.

 

Paloma A. Capanna is the author of “Nearly Fifty,” a collection of essays. She most recently published short stories, poetry, and essays in “Shoal,” “Flying South,” and “Kakalak.”  Paloma is a Board Member of Carteret Writers, and is a member of North Carolina Poetry Society and North Carolina Writers Network. Paloma and her partner Kevin are the proprietors of Downton Antiques, LLC (Beaufort, NC). Paloma is currently working on a group of essays titled “After the Fact,” a humorous and heart-warming reflection on surviving one’s parents.
